Look and feel

The look and feel of Nokia 808 PureView gives the feeling of a candy bar shape when you hold it in the hand, reason, the upper shape of the handset is thick and the lower part is a bit lanky. Weighing at 169 gms and 14 inches of thickness, this handset is comparatively thicker than the Google Smartphone is. The edges are rounded at the corners giving it a decent look. Overall, it seems a sturdy device when you hold it in the palm of your hand.

The display of this handset contains gorilla glass that is known for being steadfast including 4inches of clear black Amoled display.

Resolution
The resolution of this handset is that of 360by640 which is rather disappointing when it comes to comparing it with other Smartphone in the market. This results in unimpressive visuals perhaps the reason why the resolution is kept low has something to do with accommodating maximum number of apps for Symbian. Bottom of the phone is a strip that contains multiple buttons from here the user can access the basic functionality easily.

Port facility and other features
Audio port of 3.5mm is located at the top a HDMI port is also available with USB 2.0 port. The HDMI port is within a protective covering to prevent dust accumulation. All the functionality buttons are located on the right hand side of the device, that includes volume, camera and screen lock buttons. If you are on a look out for audio recording then the results will be good as the microphone is sensitive located at the top most of the device to facilitate easy recording. Additionally the microphone contains a rich recording feature that enables in recording clear sound sans voice distortion or background noise distraction.

The backside of the handset contains matt finish protective battery cover that has the functionality of self-lock. This makes it easy to grip and handle. The overall look and feel of the phone is decent and the handset is easy to hold.

Camera functionality

Image Capture

This is probably the best feature that a phone can ever have, a huge 41 mp camera enabled with Carl Zeiss technology and powered with Xenon flash light. This is indeed is more like a camera with a phone. However, let is focus upon the facts rather than what is more obvious to the eye, the user can clearly shoot a 38 or 34 mp image resolution by this camera. The technology behind this camera is that of Carl Zeiss with 5layers of glass to help capture hi-quality images. Therefore, overall it is more like an image sensor than an actual camera to be precise technically.

The images shot via this 41mp camera or image sensor will be a visual treat, natural life like color and clear images. Shooting in dim light or poor light is now relatively easier as the Xenon flash comes in handy to help capture images when the lighting conditions are not favorable.

Video recording

As far as video recording is concerned, you can easily capture 30frames/second with HD quality (1080p) including the feature of 4x zoom for video recording. Just manually tap on the camera to enable the functionality of focus towards sensor. You will find 3 basic functionalities like creative, automatic and scenes.

Creative gives the freedom to make settings as required; this includes sharpness, quality, color tones, modes, aspect ratio, saturation, and contrast and picture resolution.

Automatic mode makes the adjustments automatically and you need not get bothered by enabling the functionalities manually. The scene modes help in setting related to scenes.

Apps and OS (Operating System)

The OS of Nokia consists of Belle feature packs, this is similar to Symbian code with a few tweaks and some added features. FP1 (Belle) is a good update especially for users who already have Symbian powered device. The only drawback it seems to have is that of 16 bit graphics.
